The job

In-house IT specialists ensure that a company’s IT systems run reliably. They plan, configure and maintain the company's IT infrastructure. If a fault occurs, they must quickly diagnose and solve the problem. They must also use their specialist knowledge to support users.

The skills you need

In addition to having a high level of computer-related technical knowledge, you should be creative and goal oriented. Good grades in computer science, math and English are recommended.

How long does training take?

Personnel Services Management Assistant

The job

Human resources specialists are a company’s first point of contact for all personnel-related matters. They perform a wide range of tasks, including placing job advertisements, conducting applicant searches and supporting personal development.

The skills you need

In addition to having a high level of empathy, you should have good organizational and negotiating skills. You should be able to maintain confidentiality.

Materials Tester

Material Tester

The job

Materials testers are experts in testing and quality assurance, SGS’s core competencies. They perform a wide variety of inspections for our customers. These include inspections of steel mills, foundries, plants, and machine and vehicle construction. As an apprentice, you will have the opportunity to learn a specialty, for example, in plastics or metal technology.

The skills you need

To be a materials tester you will need a high level of technical knowledge, craftsmanship and observational accuracy. Diligence and a strong sense of responsibility are essential. A higher education entrance qualification is recommended.

Office Manager

The job

Office managers are responsible for keeping a business running every day. They are experts at organization and maintaining transparent, well-functioning business processes. An office manager must stay on top of a large number of varied tasks.

The skills you need

You must have a talent for organization, be able to think commercially and be customer-oriented. Flexibility and attention to detail are essential. Ideally, you will have a good understanding of German and mathematics.

Dairy Laboratory Technician

Dairy laboratory technicians are responsible for ensuring the hygienic quality of dairy products. Using state-of-the-art procedures and laboratory equipment, they carry out chemical, physical and microbiological examinations of milk and milk products, to ensure that the end user is sold a flawless product.

The skills you need

This job demands a sense of responsibility, observational accuracy, a high level of technical understanding and good attention to detail. Ideally, you will have studied science and mathematics.

Chemical Laboratory Technician

Chemical laboratory technicians are expert testers of substances, products and chemical processes. They use modern test methods and high-tech testing equipment. They often work with hazardous substances, and therefore must comply with the highest health, safety and environmental protection standards.
