New Regulations for Exports to Libya
All products imported to Libya will require a Certificate of Inspection. This regulation applies with immediate effect and is part of Resolution No. 96 of the Central Bank of Libya, issued on 10 May 2015. In accordance with the Resolution, only payments by letter of credit (L/C) are accepted for exports to Libya. In addition, imports require an official document issued by an inspection company confirming that the goods supplied are the same as the products specified in the letter of credit.
SGS is authorized to issue the required Certificates of Inspection for consignments of goods to Libya. The Certificate of Inspection is based on a document check and a visual inspection of the products. With its global network, SGS is able to conduct the required goods inspections throughout Germany and in other countries.
